"Thrill the World" is an annual worldwide simultaneous dance of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”  It takes place in hundreds of cities and dozens of countries!  It will be a fun and educational experience for all who take part, so let’s join the rest of the world and dance!

The Dance Studio of Corpus Christi under the direction of Sandra Jones is the official sponsor of the 2009 Thrill The World Event for Corpus Christi, Texas.  This marks The Dance Studio’s second year in hosting this event.  Along with helping to break another world record in this world event, The Dance Studio has registered with Guinness to try and break the record of the most dancers performing Thriller in one location.

In 2008, 4,179 people around the world broke 2 world records.  Corpus Christi was the fourth largest venue with 150 participants, while also making last year’s event a Fundraiser for the Gulf Coast Humane Society.

This year the 2009 Thrill The World Event will include a fundraiser for The Foster Angels of South Texas.
Each participant will need to donate $10.00 on the day of the event with all proceeds going to
The Foster Angels of South Texas. 

Thrill The World will take place on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 7:30p.m.  The Event will take place in the parking lot of The Dance Studio.  In order to attempt to set a Guinness World Record, “Thrill Time” must happen at exactly 7:30p.m. Not a minute later!  Participants will be asked to arrive @ 6:00pm for the official check-in and head count; strict rules do apply which will be explained in detail at a later date.

To be able to participate in the Thrill The World Event.  Each participant must know the full 6 minute zombie dance routine from Thriller. The routine will be taught to the public free of charge by the professional dance instructors of The Dance Studio @ 5925 Patton St. Corpus Christi, TX.

The rehearsal dates and times are as follows. 

Rehearsal Dates and Times:

Rehearsal 1:  Saturday, September 19, 2009…12:30pm-2:30pm.
Rehearsal 2:  Saturday, October 3, 2009…12:30pm-2:30pm.
Rehearsal 3:  Saturday, October 17, 2009…12:30pm-2:30pm.
